Just kidding, but Matt once thought it would be really cool to make a movie about giants destroying Los Angeles. Then we saw it was already made, only about Manhattan. Totally off point except for the fact that last night's wine was a 2005 Roshambo "The Rat" Carignane.
Cost us $17.78 in a club shipment, real cork closure and 14.4% alcohol by volume. On the nose and in the mouth, there was raspberry and pepper in this wine. It reminded me somewhat of a Syrah. The tannins were a little strong on the end, but mellowed considerably as the wine aired. I thought overall this was a really well done wine.
The rats are everywhere!

We love Roshambo!!! I cannot remember their Carignane, but last time we were there we bought quite a few of thier wines and actually one of the restuarants here in Richmond carries a couple of them too. I was sad to hear that they will be moving to a new winery location, just down the road though. Apparently for the time being, until the winery is built, they will be tasting out of a kick ass tour bus. Total Roshambo style!
haha

Hey John!
Yeah, we went there on our trip too. We actually joined their club so we get their wines every few months. This one came in a shipment and I think it's only available in the tasting room. It won some big gold award at a Sonoma Fair too. I'm hoping we make it back out that way to actually see this bus in operation!

interesting, I wasn't familiar with this grape so I looked it up in the Wine Lover's Companion. I learned that it produces more red wine than any other grape--that's a surpise.

Ew Gross.
Roshambo is a fun place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. I've never liked any of the wines...
