Even at an outdoor festival, it just doesn't seem refreshing to me in that style. I much prefer the crisp dry version. I really liked Swedenburg wines, have you had a chance to get out there yet?Sonadorahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01267916648440750132noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37542126.post-41525538195938106542007-01-24T01:52:00.000-04:002007-01-24T01:52:00.000-04:00Hello Sondora,

VA is still 1/2 -1/2 with the Roses...some are done very sweet because a great number of people enjoy those sweet wines at the (humid and hot)summer festivals, and some are now appealing to a palate style like ours.

Very nice post that sounds and looksk yummy!

DezelDezel Quillenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10053551849284583636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37542126.post-33163018072567020122007-01-23T19:27:00.000-04:002007-01-23T19:27:00.000-04:00Farley, yeah, I do usually like a rose with ham. (My grams used to make something similar to your ham pie...but it had Italian cured ham and something else I can't place at the moment. Man, I wish I had gotten that recipe!)Sonadorahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01267916648440750132noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37542126.post-21254749982989299032007-01-23T16:52:00.000-04:002007-01-23T16:52:00.000-04:00I actually think it's a great pairing. Last Easte...I actually think it's a great pairing. Last Easter, I finally got the family recipe for Easter pie, which my mom used to beg her mom to make. I made one for myself (pie crust filled with egg, ricotta, ham, and parsley) and had a dry Rose' of Sangiovese.

Now, I just need to get online and get myself some VA wine.farleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15464973201517365255noreply@blogger.com
